I know I can be overly positive about my work and possess a can do attitude that infuriates certain people, but I cant stand writers who use negativity and tear down other, often more successful, writers just for the attention. Im not talking about me, but unfortunately, I am talking about my generation of authors. Its no wonder the older generation detests some of us. I see too many writers online that are rash, loudmouthed, judgmental, and pretentious dicks who dont think theyre any of those things--which makes them even more dickish. When I see these kinds of writers flaming the more successful folks, I just want to scream, Holy balls, JUST DO YOUR WORK. Focus on YOUR goals, YOUR persona, YOUR beliefs, and maybe, if youre lucky, youll be the writer the younger generation insults one day. But I dont. Everyone is different, and we need to accept that. Like I said, Im positive to a fault. ;) So I just smile and focus on my work. I guess I just prefer to climb the ladder on rungs Ive built myself, not on the backs of those Ive yanked down from the rung above me. #McTruth
