I know I have been writing a lot about having a heart attack but - TopicsExpress

I know I have been writing a lot about having a heart attack but well I am thankfully alive thanks to the ER team at Jackson Hospital and specifically Dr. Avazano the ER doc and Dr. Brazil, my cardiologist. Dr. Donald Marshall, my GP since I was 19 was the first doctor by my bedside in the morning when I woke up and I saw tears in his eyes. I learned that the main cause of the attack was genetic. My biological father died 4 1/2 years ago from a heart attack, my paternal uncle died from a heart attack several years prior to my father. My paternal grandmother died of a heart attack in the early 1970s. My maternal grandfather had a heart attack which lead to him having a quadruple bypass and stents several years later - he is 86 years old. My cardiologist told me that plaque came loose which is fairly unusual but saved my life. Many have heard that symptoms in a female having a heart attack is much different from symptoms in a male. I had been ill off and on for some time with primarily fevers, chills, and respiratory congestion. My blood pressure was high 2 weeks earlier and was began taking meds which miraculously got my BP in line nearly immediately. The day before the attack I had muscle pain in the back of my left arm thinking I had bruised it somehow. The day of the attack I worked as normal and had fun visiting with Makayla and Amelia Story Strickland. When I went to bed, I couldnt sleep because I was having a hard time breathing feeling heaviness in my chest thinking it was from congestion. Then I got sick and couldnt catch my breath. The pain in my arm worsened and then felt burning like indigestion in my chest. When I got sick I had a metallic taste in my mouth and then had a hard time sitting up straight and even speaking. When the ambulance came I was told that my BP was great and there was no indication of activity from the EKG. The EMT asked if I wanted to ride in the ambulance, drive myself to the hospital or have somebody else take me just to get checked out. I opted the ride in the ambulance thankfully because I was indeed as we all know having a heart attack. I say this because people should become educated about it. I am 44 years old and fortunate that I survived. I am really having depression right now partly because of the house fire in February and my body is full of medicine now. Please dont take anything I post wrong. I know God has spared my life and I am thankful for being alive. When I get better I plan to spread the word to females in particular about the warning signs of having a heart attack, so maybe I can help others.
