I know I say this about the Easter pageant almost every post, but I dont know how else to describe it. As an assistant director, I also portray the Spanish Narrator. Over 16 years, last night was landmark for me, partly because it was the last night of this year that I would portray the narrator, but mostly because of the Laparras being present. Gilberto Laparra and Laura Laparra Rivera were at our devotional and then Laura gave the opening prayer for the pageant. The sweet spirit that they brought, and the walking miracle that Laura is, attests to the fact that God is involved in the details of our lives, that miracles really do happen and that there is great purpose to life, love, family, and friends. The performance was incredible and the spirit of thousands of our Spanish brothers and sisters was unmatched! It is a privilege to perform with Georgina Rodriguez de Uribe to feel her magnificent spirit and love for everyone she performs in front of. As I stand on the rock waiting for my scene to start, I watch the pure joy that radiates from her face as the Centurion tells her that he wants to learn more of this Jesus. And I almost feel selfish for how much I love having my family and good friends like Jon Jonathon Neeley Buehner in this pageant...with Debra Jo and Mitch as the Blue Wiseman and follower, and Jon Buehner as one some very excellent Sadducees in this production. Words can be so feeble sometimes in expressing how much this pageant has affected my life and the great eternal friends that I have met because of it!!
