I know Stephen Davis, I worked in the background with him during efforts to resolve the insurrection in the Delta region under President Shehu Yar’Adua. I have not been involved in his recent labours for a number of reasons. The most basic is that my threshold for confronting evil across a table is not as high as his - thanks, perhaps, to his priestly calling. I have interacted with the late National Security Adviser, General Azazi, on occasion – among others. I am therefore compelled to warn that anything that Stephen Davis claims to have uncovered cannot be dismissed out of hand. It cannot be wished away by foul-mouthed abuse and cheap attempts to impugn his integrity – that is an absolute waste of time and effort. - Wole Soynika ------/------------------------------- This is what I said on 7/9/14 , & some people castigated me, calling me all kinds of names. ++++ They cant discredit this man, Stephen Davis. He has a track record of work in Nigeria. One wonders, why this govt is trying very hard to distance itself from this man now & all out efforts to defend Ihejirika . This is the same govt that tried very hard to link ex president IBB, Raymond Dokpesi and others with the October 1st, 2010 bombings in Abuja. This is the same govt that said, members of MEND, had nothing to do with this bombing. What did we learn when the truth came out? ..... Members of MEND came to Abuja and detonated bombs that murdered innocent citizens. We are yet to be told, why they did this, why they had to come to Abuja to commit this atrocity, and not in Niger Delta. I guess we should also start asking, what do they stand to gain by creating problem in the country, when their brother is the President. Do anybody know? - Chudy Okonkwo
