I know for many the word simple has taken on a less than desirable meaning as of late. They feel that simplicity is boring, unstimulating and mundane, they strive to make their lives and the world around them intricate and elaborate. But what they are in fact doing is creating a world that is complicated and entangled. I am in no way a fan of confusion and complexity, especially when it comes having discussions about extremely important topics. Lately I have come across a growing number of people who feel the need to try and be as articulate and philosophical as possible when talking about spirituality. They seem to want to take a simple and beautiful message and turn it into something that only the absolutely advanced and educated minds could comprehend. I dont know why they choose to spread their message in such a way, maybe they feel as though using technical terms and speaking down to others makes them appear more enlightened and wiser. I honestly believe that spirituality is for everyone and we must spread it to others using the simplest and most honest means necessary. Now I know that I am not a highly educated man, you could probably tell from my writing, but education is not a prerequisite to become awake. Diplomas and degrees will never make you a spiritual person, all they say about you is that at one time in your life you were a good student. It is the people who have dedicated their lives to being a student of the world and of life in general who are more advanced, because knowledge is gained through books while wisdom can only be obtained by living life to its fullest. So I say, stop trying to impress everyone with your understanding about life and the universe. Lets get back to a more personal level where we realize that the path of our brothers and sisters is just as important as ours and their advancement along that path should be something that we have great interest in. It doesnt matter how big the words you use are or how many you use, if they are not words of Love and support then they are not as impressive as you first thought them to be.
