I know it is quite long overdue, but here is my final investigative report on why the Eagles parted away with DeSean Jackson so quickly and out of the blue: On January 12th, DeSeans South Philadelphia apartment was robbed, a story that everyone was aware of when it happened. Robberys happen, but what was stolen from his home raised questions and red flags. The burglars disabled DeSeans home security system and went on to steal over $200,000 dollars in cash bills, $125,000 dollars in jewelry and also a handgun. The gun was a silver decorated 9mm that was registered. There were no signs of forced entry and the investigators concluded that the people who robbed the home knew of what was inside and most importantly knew DeSean on some level and were in the home before. The Eagles were having issues with DeSean as well. He was late to team meetings, he was growing unhappy with his contract again, he was reportedly keeping away from team activities and teammates, keeping to himself and becoming more isolated from the team. He and Chip Kelly reportedly got into an argument which was later confirmed by the media. Going back to his younger days, DeSean and Andy Reid had issues as well, including DeSean being benched for an entire game and fined a large amount of money due to issues he had during team meetings and practices. Reids and Jacksons relationship was reported to be Very Poor. by the time Andy took the job in Kansas City. When traveling back to Long Beach, California, DeSean would post pictures with he and his friends throwing up gang signs and putting on the gangster look. DeSean swore he was not involved with any gang related activities. However he has recently admitted that he involves himself with gang members. One of DeSeans friends, Theron Shakir, was a main suspected in a murder of a 14 year old boy but was later acquitted. In 2012 police also investigated a murder that took place in a building the DeSeans family owned, but made no connections to the receiver. Police did state that they were concerned with the pictures and social media posts DeSean would make with confirmed Gang Members of the Crips. DeSean opened up in an interview with the Redskins stating that he will throw up gang signs during a game because he is showing love to his brothers back home in Long Beach. However those hand gestures that DeSean has made in games and will continue to make in games are Neighborhood Crip Gang Signs according to a LAPD Detective. Now... add all of those issues together and try to explain how DeSean is completely clean of all issues. The Eagles were obviously very disturbed about all of the stories and facts against DeSean and released him. Everything listed are things very similar to Aaron Hernandezs life before he was arrested on murder charges and the Eagles would be damned if they would take the chance on Jackson. Why the Eagles were not able to find a trade partner, I dont know. But in my personal opinion the Eagles wanted to rid of DeSean ASAP so they could move on as quickly as possible before information they have would be shown. You dont release a 27 year old Pro Bowl receiver coming off of his best season yet for football reasons. The Eagles were very disturbed by DeSean and rightly so, but they obviously wont tell the media anything, which they shouldnt.
