I know it was full moon last night because there was a lot of howling going on. It was also, temporarily, November 5th, because a nice bonfire was lit next door at 10.00 pm. No doubt if wed been nearer the coast wed have been run through with ornate swords and then set adrift on the waters in a burning boat, accompanied by stirring cinematic music. But the police do not have powers to intervene in this sort of thing. Which is ironic because if someone so much as touches a hair on her head shes got a rapid response team hammering on her door to find out whats wrong. Because she was abused; which doesnt stop her abusing the position. Its the plaintive cry of the school bully. I feel like being Mel Gibson to her Joss Ackland.
