I know many of you have by now heard of Larrys sudden retirement and his ALS diagnosis. Larrys professional accomplishments over his 39 year career at ABC 11 are well known and well deserved. But hell be missed for many more reasons as well. When I started at ABC 11 in 1991, I did the weekend weather. Whenever I would see Larry or fill in on the evening shows, he would say to me I keep telling management that you need to be on the evening shows with me. When I was promoted to the evening shows in 2007, Larry came up and congratulated me and said They finally listened to me! Ill miss his support, his level head during a crisis, and Ill miss his humor. There are few people who can turn a phrase like Larry. After the 6 pm news, a group of us gathered with Larry at a local restaurant. As usual, he had us cracking up with some of his stories. Saying WTVD will never be the same isnt enough, because he IS WTVD, and well miss him terribly.
