I know many of you will relate to this, we went to a dinner event of Friday night (very expensive tickets!), I called them three weeks ago to let them know we are vegan and politely requested a vegan meal. Mains came out and we had four plates of dead animals put in front of us and sent away before, ten minutes after everyone else got their meals, our vegetable stack arrived. The stack was tasty but a quarter of the size of the meat meals so we thought maybe it was entree...no that was it. We were starving! Then desserts arrive, a tray full of delicious looking crumbles, tarts and ice creams. We asked which was vegan and they looked at us blankly and ran off. 15 minutes later, when everyone else had finished their yummy desserts we were given....wait for it....a plate of chopped up fruit. Sigh. By the time it ended we were so hungry our stomachs were growling and we had to go to a restaurant a buy another dinner! Whos had similar experiences at events?
