I know some of you might be tired of seeing this but... *PLEASE dont let this fight die people, some very good people have left IMVU for good over this BULLSHIT, IMVU NEEDS to be Stopped!!! Very few are speaking out anymore against the Conduit/Perion Search Protect (which is anything but protection) being part of the 3D Chat download packs. When we spoke out, imvu listened for a short time. The silence tells them not enough care. The potential malware (Conduit) and the browser hi-jacker (Perion Search Protect) have been re-added to the client download. imvu tells users they recommend us to download it. People, they recommend it because they gain money from it. They dont care what it does to our computers. Let them know you want those removed from the Chat Download Packs. They have nothing to do with the chat program. They are on-site features. Look at the damn banner that entices users to download the toolbar (Conduit) for a measly 1000 predits. imvu already advertises the download. Its an ethical move for imvu to consider their customers and not their pockets. ~~~ *& to add to this, BOTH Microsoft & Nortons websites have declared this BS Search Protect to be a very malicious spyware/hijack program that is extremely difficult to remove completely... When attempting to root out Search Protect from your computer, use MULTIPLE anti-malware programs. None of them are perfect; each may find some (but not all) of SPs many components. I used AdwCleaner, MalwareBytes, and HitmanPro. BEWARE: at least one of these programs (I forgot which) has a FAKE version floating around out there that is made by the makers of Search Protect! This is not a joke! So download your anti-malware programs straight from their creators, NOT from any third-party source. For instance, c-net distributes MalwareBytes, but attaches malware to it as part of the install process! Do NOT just leave this alone. SP will force you to their website, where your personal information and browsing habits will be phished for all theyre worth. And finally, you might have this garbage in your system EVEN IF YOU OPTED OUT. Thats precisely what happened to my wife. Repulses welcome, but I wont be mad at you if you dont. Please Do NOT pay attention to the crap imvu is trying to trick their users into downloading into their computers. Did I say crap? I meant malware and browser hi-jacker. They dont want you to pay attention to that. They dont care that your computer may get messed up. Why would they? People are excited over the extra chat rooms they can spend money on, and the badge canvases. Yes, if you decline the offers during the client update download, the dormant files no longer download in your computer (did you realize imvu stopped doing that because we spoke up?), but the fact remains is that unknowing/uneducated users, new and old, may allow these things to be downloaded into their computer because imvu recommends it! It even sounds safe! Search Protect . . . Its not safe. Its a hi-jacker. These items are On-Site features and have no function in the Chat Client Download Packs. imvu can offer these features on-site as they already do the toolbar download (which is Conduit, by the way). We are asking imvu to completely remove these two on-site features from the 3D Chat Client Download Packs because they are potentially harmful to computers and because they dont belong in those download packs. Please dont let the fancy sales and offers distract you from protecting your computers. Please go to the poll and ask imvu to remove this garbage from the download packs.
