I know some people will disagree with me, but I think this is a good move. While diverse participation, good sportsmanship, and teamwork should be lauded, awards should be limited to individuals and teams else they are nothing more than a cheesy keepsake. I am also against leagues that chose not to keep score. I will admit that I did enjoy trophies when I first got them, they lost all their allure when I realised that everyone had them, that there was truly nothing being awarded. I would have thrown all of mine out ten or twenty years ago were it not for my mother keeping them as mementos, and given how much of a pack rat she was society and her could survive with less superfluous kitsch. They were one of the few things that meant anything special to my mother that I had no guilt whatsoever in throwing out since she died.
