I know sometimes my FB presence seems like one big advertisement - TopicsExpress

I know sometimes my FB presence seems like one big advertisement for my musical endeavors. For that, I apologize. Just so you know, I am conscious of how my posts are perceived and a little uneasy with self-promotion in general. But this is how I make my living and I realize just how incredibly fortunate I am to be able to do this - at my age, in this economy and at a time when the music industry only exists for disposable pop stars and genuine legends who continue to sell millions of records and have gone the distance. Social media is a godsend in that regard for musicians like me, who dont fall into either of those categories. I guess what Im trying to say is thank you for giving me an opportunity to keep doing what I love, thanks for being supportive of (or just ignoring/putting up with) my countless promos and thanks for being my FB friends. Thats all great, but the things I REALLY love about this medium is the flood of love that happens when we all share the things that REALLY matter in our lives - family, kids, births and birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, new jobs, new love, marriages, engagements, achievements - as well as the support system that happens when life is not so great - illness, loss of loved ones, injury, break ups, defeat. Its an incredible time we live in and there just isnt enough time in my day to be cynical. Practical, yes. We all have bills to pay. But I am grateful for every moment, every hug, every smile, every laugh. And yes, every like.
