I know that it is funny to some but it is the precise fact that any musician does that that it would be mentioned even in jest. And if musicians would load 50 THOUSAND dollars worth of gear in a FIFTY dollar car to drive FIVE HUNDRED miles to work for FIVE dollars then that is what they would get paid and thus becoming the NEW status quo that the rest of us would have to accept should we so desire to whore ourselves for that type of slave wage. There are other reasons the musician pay scale in local bar/restaurants formerly known as Night Clubs has sunken to the smoldering shit range such as terminal laziness, lack of self respect, and absence of any and all dignity resulting in piss poor attire and appearance, unrehearsed and ill prepared musicians and bands, shoddy instruments, gear, and/or sound systems, and of course the inevitable, Amateur Hour shit quality horrid and dreaded iPhone band pic in some dumb ass setting like standing in front of the river, beach, some shmucks backyard flower bed, in the woods, the whole band in front of band members truck, on stage at the local Tiki Bar while playing in your shorts and flip flops, etc., etc. this just screams I am a weekend warrior part timer that wants to get paid shit, will accept working for tips and all the piss water draft beer I can drink and accept any sub human douche bag treatment hurled upon me and like it. We (and I mean as human beings on this Earth in any field of endeavor, when I say we) get back exactly what we tell others we want, feel we are worth, and thus deserve, both in our minds and thus in reality.
