I know there has been a lot of lflack about the no make up selfies - TopicsExpress

I know there has been a lot of lflack about the no make up selfies for breast cancer awareness not being supportive or showing bravery. Heres my thoughts for what its worth. Ive had dear dear friends who have had breast cancer and survived. During their battle they lost all sense of dignity as they fought. , masectomies, hair loss, nausea and vomiting, lymphodema, time..precious time of normalcy. .fear, facing uncertainties. But all the fine women that I know did so with great poise and style and grace. Maintaining pride in who they were even at their worst. I think stripping off our make up and showing self beauty in support of such courageous women and making people aware, is a plain and simple way to say, we love you. Does it remotely compare to what these warriors in pink dealt with. Heck No!!! And by no means is it supposed to be. Those that have been and have taken the challenge did so out of respect, support and love for these ladies. So having said all of that, if youve been challenged and think its wrong..then dont participatte, but nothing is gained by throwing negativity on something so simply done out of love and respect. Love you all!! Kathy Cadwell Hilliard Joelyn Bell Ginger Jones I love you and admire you. You are my heroes!!
