I know this isnt directly ferret related, but maybe it is more than I think it is. The first thing that occurred when I brought up that I was having medical problems and was being hospitalized was unexpected but very moving. I didnt put it in to garner sympathy or anything, but what I got was an immediate response of offers to help. I absolutely sat and cried at the tremendous outpouring of offers to help care for my furry crowd and feelings of sympathy. I can say without reservation that Ive never experienced such an outpouring of compassion. I see this every day here and on other ferret webpages. There may be the occasional spats and upset individuals but by and large, everyone feels each others needs and pain and are there with a kind word or an offer of assistance, verbal or otherwise. I would like to say that I am proud and honored to be part of the group who are loved and owned by ferrets. Please do not ever lose these feelings. I am now scheduled for surgery Friday morning. Sadly, Im going to have one toe amputated, damned diabetes has taken its toll on this body. After that they are going to try to insert stents in both femoral arteries and veins, should that fail, they will do a complete femoral bypass graft. Hopefully it wont come to that. If you can, a thought or a prayer would be appreciated. Thank you one and all for who and what you are.
