I know this isn’t a good thing for the Aaliyah fanbase to see, but i’m sorry. My dad was telling me during winter break all these stories about him being good friends with Michael Jordan and R. Kelly. When he mentioned R. Kelly, I became interested as soon as he said his name. He told me that R. Kelly used to live right next door to my aunt in Chicago. I thought was pretty interesting. Here comes the great part, he mentioned that when R. Kelly was working with Aaliyah, he brought her around when he went to his place in Chicago which is next door to my aunts. If my dad met Aaliyah, he’s the luckiest person in my family. I don’t know if this happened after I was born or before, but if my dad would’ve brought me over there to meet her, I’d be the happiest girl alive. Just knowing that Aaliyah was in that same neighborhood that I’ve been going to for years, that’s the happiest feeling in the world. The fact that she died on a terrible plane crash is so heartbreakong. The good thing is that she isn’t suffering.
