I know thru experiance ZEISS lens are Durable! Even as a Nikon shooter Zeiss was desired. The Dropped my 50mm to the ground with the #Sony #a99. Right on the lens. On a job. Shattering the hood in four(4) pieces. Which is not easy to do. The lens and camera kept on shooting the rest of the night. And I still shoot with the Zeiss (reliably) without ever sending it in to service... Even for a check, because it still is very accurate on AF even at f1.4. The a99 I no longer use.. The 50mm f1.4 Zeiss SSM I will Keep Forever!!! Its gone past being just a tool... Its my reliable Friend. :)
