I know trailers lie. I know it is just a teaser. I know we still have a year to go. Still, that teaser for The Force Awakens is pretty solid. Think about it. In eleven shots, this teaser was able to do all of this: - Showcase the new franchise stars instead of the returning favorites - Showcase beautiful cinematography and visual effects - Play upon iconic vehicles and images without feeling inorganic - Introduce a new Lightsaber style few people would have thought of - Not have a single line of onscreen dialogue (though having a suspiciously Benedict Cumberbatch sounding narration. I wouldnt be surprised if it was him honestly with how much Abrams is a huge liar) - Have only the barest minimum of classic Star Wars music up until the very end - Never once show J.J. Abrams name or his lens flares yet have all of his other great qualities (great visual composition, sweeping rollercoaster like camera moves) on display - Reveal absolute dick about the plot in classic Abrams fashion So I say that chalks up to a pretty amazing teaser.
