I left California 4 years ago with my wife, 2 year old son and 3 - TopicsExpress

I left California 4 years ago with my wife, 2 year old son and 3 month old daughter to live in the Montana Wilderness. We purchased our mountain property on EBay relying on the sellers photos and description for truth and accuracy. We left blind not knowing what to expect. We knew no one in Montana and have never been there... The most stressful part was a 3 month old new born and my son who wasnt quite 2. We got to our property on New Years Eve and it was 19 degrees with lots of snow and no other place to go. While waiting on the weather to get better we started planning. During this time we lived on our property out of a tent or our Jeep depending on the weather. We were 50+ miles from the city and our nearest neighbor lives over a mile away. Our cabin is 20x28 which I built all by myself as my wife was taking care of our babies... The cabin was built with absolutely no power tools whatsoever. Over 100,000 nails hammered by hand and every 2x6, boards etc, were cut with a 23 ripsaw. My neighbors said I was a total nut case and I just laughed... It took me 9 months to get the cabin livable but not completely done. We have no electricity, no running water and a outhouse. We grow our own fruits and veggies, we hunt, we fish, we harvest rain water and a goat for milk. Since we have lived in the Wilderness no one in my family has ever been sick, not even a cold. Although I must admit, it is a lot of work but I take please in doing things for ourselves. We live on $300.00 a month and we roll what we dont use to the next month incase we need something more... We will not spend a red cent unless we have to. Our taxes are $200.69 per year and we have a Verizon I phone with DATA that doesnt always work out here. Except for the 2 bills and gas in the Jeep we have no others. We might head into town once a month to pickup the mail from our PO Box and some sweets as everything else we need is here. Its the best life ever. I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as we enjoy living here... This is where it all began. Fred Stallone
