I like Artisan Boulangerie Co. (ABC) for 2 reasons. Firstly, its way better than what used to occupy this space at Katong 112. Baci or something. Nonsense crappy food pretending to be Italian. Secondly, ABC does not pretend to be something it is not. No gimmicks and not trying hard to impress or going way and beyond to make themselves different. Plainly, its a go-to place for reliable coffee, nice selection of bread and pastries, some yummy breakfast grab, to spend some time before your movies etc. Nice friendly staff, service is fuss free and to the point, decor is homely and cosy, not industrial at all, and you have nice light coming through. All in all quite hearty. But dont expect magical things here.! Its not a distinctive cafe culture you will get here if you are looking for the Chye Seng Huat or Papa Palheta strain of DNA. Moreover, one little gripe I have is that marginally, prices are on the steep side. But to be fair, you have been warned because they start with the word Artisan in their name. And we all know, artisan is the code name for 30% above market pricing. Or an excuse for a 100% mark up :D just sayin! But do visit if u have some time to kill at Katong 112. Great space for coffee, bread, grub and chat :) Artisan Boulangerie Company. Overall rating: 7/10
