I like this photo essay on Ahmeds everyday scenery in Hebron, The West Bank. Brings me back to my experiences there while on team with Christian Peacemaker Teams - Palestine. The fact that this portrays - in effect - the playground and everyday pastime space of a young boy makes this poignant. There is hope and playfulness in the midst of weird conditions (here: highly militarized) At the same time it acts as a disturbing reminder of the normalization of violence and the ridiculous measures of security that make up the fabric of everyday life in this city.
