The other day a very smart raccoon was crossing the street, saw me approaching, turned and went back to a bush, waited, then crossed after I passed. Today, not ten feet away from that spot, a little gray velveteen-like jackrabbit with long floppy ears sat in the road, nearly missed due to its size. Maybe a moose tomorrow? I already have a family of "flying" squirrels leaping through the air next door...
