I located my copy of the History of Pearl Texas. I had misstated the time when the Pearl School burned in a comment I had made on another post on this page. I quote in part from this book, In 1907 There was a Three room school building erected with two rooms on the ground floor and one room on the second floor. In February 1908 the second story room was sold to the Odd Fellows Lodge, but they continued to have school in this room in order to have three teachers. In about 1916 this building burned down and the churches of Pearl opened their buildings to be used for school purposes until a new building could be erected. In 1917 a bond was passed and a new school built and that building is part of what is today the community center.
