I look for the blessings and accomplishments every single day. I have to or I would become extremely frustrated with the obstacles and challenges we face, daily. Most people have no clue as to what goes on behind the scenes here. Sometimes the blessings are huge and apparent. Most of the time they are there, but require a closer look. For example, I watched one of our older boys who not long ago was a street thug, hugging and loving on Priscilla, our long term missionary. When he first came to us he was so distant. Love and affection were a foreign concept for him. Now, he eats it up and craves more. Thats huge progress! While on another note we had major legal accomplishment with another case that we have been praying about for a long time. The children are finally protected once and for all. Sometimes the blessings are obvious, sometimes it takes a closer look. Regardless, they are there...every day. Its easy to become frustrated in our circumstances, especially if you are dealing with difficulties beyond what anyone can understand. I cant emphasize enough how important it is to find the blessings...every.single.day. Thank God for even the smallest of things. Your heart, mind, attitude, and perspective all change when you constantly remain in a attitude of gratefulness.
