SOME PERSPECTIVE ON SPIRITUAL FATHERS/MOTHERS AND SPIRITUAL SONS/DAUGHTERS RELATIONSHIPS Lets be serious and not selfish in how we do the whole spiritual fathers/mothers - spiritual sons/daughters thing. Potential spiritual fathers/mothers: you need to be able see through the eye of the Spirit the calling, giftings and destiny in potential sons and daughters. It is imperative that you see it and allow God to use you to bring it forth in their lives, like the Prophet Samuel did with David, Paul did with Timothy, Moses did with Joshua, and Elijah did with Elisha. And dont just look for whats in it for you. Some spiritual sons and daughters will be able to be a blessing back to you. Others, it may be a long term investment on your part. Others in poorer developing nations, it will be just the awesome satisfaction that you are being used by God in that relationship to raise up next generation leaders that will bless that nation Potential spiritual sons and daughters: dont look at a potential spiritual father or mother just in terms of their potential to get you to the next connection - the next hook-up. Thats not a right motive. You need to see if they have the ability to draw out of you your potential, calling, giftings and destiny through this spiritual relationship. Connections and networking opportunities may come, but they should not be on the forefront of your mind in chosing a spiritual father or mother. And let me say that sometimes the relationship is initiated by the potential son or daughter, and sometimes by the potential father of mother. But no matter whoever initiates it, both parties must have a witness from the Holy Spirit that God is forging the relationship in order for it to be fruitful for the Kingdom of God. Lets develop healthy, fruitful relationships that will have heavens backing and produce great fruit on the earth.
