I love craigslist. Someone always trying to pull something. Here are the transcripts from my latest text message exchange: (selling old washer and dryer Buyer: How are you doing Today.. is the Whirlpool washer and dryer still available and what is your last asking price? As i await your sincere response Me:200.00 , yes it is available. 201 area code? Are you in New Jersey? Buyer: Thanks for the responses , am okay with the asking price Me:Ok. You are more than welcome to come by on or after Sunday to see it if you like Buyer:I wont be able to come see it anymore. I had thought I was going to be in your town to come check it out but my plan got changed Me:ok Buyer:impromptu as am embarking on a few business trip to Herndon Virginia tomorrow morning but how ever am still interested in purchasing the item away I dont mind adding extra 50 dollars to it for keeping it for me am actually getting it for my cousin as a birthday Gift Me:...Ok. cash only NO cashiers checks Buyer:Am on business trip and it will take some few month before i will be done and am presenting the Whirlpool washer and dryer for cousin this week, that is why i said i will compensate you with extra $50 for keeping the item for me, Me:Uh no, Im not hanging onto these...and I know this is a scam. 1. Your number is New Jersey, 2. Your story is weak, 3. Since you clearly arent the best con artist who ever lived, let me say this no one buys someone a used washer and dryer on a business trip for a birthday present that they arent going to give it for for several months. Out of state....I dont mind you trying to scam me, I do mind you being bad at it.
