I love how Stuart Baker, former NSA general counsel, keeps harping on that the NSA mass surveillance is a response to failings of 9/11. Its complete and utter bullshit, and heres why... All of the suspected hijackers on 9/11 were already under surveillance. The companies where they trained to be pilots made repeated warnings about them. On the day of 9/11, authorities were alerted in plenty of time that planes had been hijacked. In every single case, it wasnt surveillance that was the issue - the existing systems had provided countless warnings - it was failure to act on the surveillance that was the problem. So all this shit about needing more surveillance, particularly the need to closely monitor and track every single human being on the planet, is complete rubbish. It will not prevent any terrorist attack - and in fact weve seen that this is in fact the case with things like Boston Marathon (remember how the brothers were already known to the FBI...) and all the school shootings, etc. The simple fact is that this surveillance is nothing to do with catching terrorists or pedophiles. Instead, its about getting business intel for US companies, its about being able to blackmail politicians and other people in power to do their bidding, and its about gaining full dominance and control over the entire human race.
