I love it that so many of our students were able to make the trip down to the US Cellular Center on Tuesday and Thursday. I wish my husband could have been there too! These girls are more than just volleyball players. They are fellow students, friends and role models to the entire student body. My kids are at the tournament, watching the DREAM come to life. We are so fortunate to have such a quality program filled with quality people at West Delaware. It is not just VOLLEYBALL (although they are all awesome volleyball players and managers) that these girls excel at - they excel at LIFE! They are great because they also play volleyball and their dedication and commitment to that sport, while juggling their commitment to their academics and social life is what make them what they are, and what we should all strive to have our children be! These girls and their coaches have worked for YEARS to get to today - and the entire West Delaware community has been there along the way, supporting them. The assumption that there arent that many kids that attended the volleyball tournament, so there isnt a need to cancel school is wrong. Many kids didnt go because they did not want to miss class or could not miss class because they would fall behind. Again, a shout out to those kids! But why make them choose. West Delaware is a small, supportive community! Let everyone celebrate this success that this volleyball team has! I am so glad Jessie Fergesen that you will be there supporting our HAWKS today! Harrison Guetzko and all the other students that have missed the tournament games so far - I hope you are able to come today. You have been missed! GO HAWKS!
