I love my India Our religious places are not properly connected Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate. In June, 2013, thousands of our pilgrims have been killed because of floods, because of illness and because of hunger and thirst. The people who are holding the charge of religious places situated at high heights were expecting heavy donations and were ready to collect the money and keep the same with them. But they never bothered for the pilgrims and the pilgrims were using the same old paths and were bound to suffer the same old hardship which was a part of religious devotion established during the old times. There were times when the pilgrims were given the last farewell when he was leaving his home place. All the people living around were giving him farewell and if he had come alive, all came to touch his feet. But today, all the travelers are not real pilgrims, but most of the people are joining the group for visiting hills and enjoying adventures. That is the reason, rush is heavy. We are noting that all those who are suffering due to unexpected floods are passing adverse comments on government. Government too is at fault because when Government knows that more and more people are joining with these pilgrims, they too should examine the fate of the people. We have got engineers and experts who can examine all these paths and they should ensure alternative paths and if such tragedies are there, we should be in the position to save our people. We must accept that the state had never cared for the people and it was for the people to ensure safe journey. We have noted that the people were without dry food and water with them and therefore, most of the pilgrims suffered hunger and thirst and died.
