I love my fellow born gain Christians. The bible tells us to pray all times. Some of my fellow brothers and sisters spend 5hrs talking speaking to God etc. being a one liner and 5 minutes prayer person I tend to ask what are my friends asking. Hasnt my heavenly father heard. Yes we say we have come with a 6-axle trailer of problems to tell God. Anyway this is where I want to draw your attention: Read Genesis 22: Abraham Tested. Verse 2: Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Can you imagine... waiting all those years and God said Sacrifice your son. The one he promised to be the one to form the great nation of Israel. Abraham must have been on pressure. God told him to send away Ishmael. Now the promised son Isaac has to be sacrificed!! Yooo!! I cannot imagine God telling me go sacrifice Jesse. My only child whom I prayed and cried for. After being barren for 6yrs. After being told am good for nothing. I cannot imagine being told personally go sacrifice Jesse I would think its the devil. But Abraham followed. I compare it with the GPS navigator. Sometimes I use my phone or sons tablet to get us there because the car navigator can lead you in the bush. So we have to be silent to listen to madam. No music. Less talk.. If am on the phone and playing music(jumping to Kwaito) and talking to the Jesse, I will not hear Madam. She will say turn right but because of the music is loud I will not hear her. Like wise with God. You are Praying aloud.. singing aloud, shouting in tongues. But in the midst of that trial, when will you listen to Him. The way the GPS/ Google Maps on my phone works is the same way how God wants to operate in our lives. But how can He speak to us when we are on the phone calling Mary John Xaba Khumalo Beatrice, what is happening in your marriage, kids work home etc. You are on TV watching Joel Osteen, You are listening to Joyeous Celebration. You are jumping to every pastor for deliverance. Dont get me wrong all is needed. But what am saying is how can God speak and we are to listen when we have all the drama we have created? Note what God told Abraham Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” I WILL SHOW YOU. Supposing after the instruction Abraham was doing, is exactly what you do. He would have failed the test. Supposing he went but on the journey he was telephoning every one or playing music, how would he hear the place he was going to sacrifice. I WILL SHOW YOU... are Gods instructions that he still gives us. Verse 9: When they reached the place God had told him about..... Verse 11: But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.” Supposing after he started the journey, got to the place and placed Isaac.. He was still shouting Lord I bind this devil etc. He would have killed his son and there will be no Christ who would have died to redeem us from the curse of the Law. Psalm 37:23 New King James Version (NKJV) The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. We should learn to be silent and let God speak. How can you walk with a God you cannot hear. By going through the trials and tribulations God will order our steps. God says I want to show you how to get through this. I can navigate you through this if you hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. When do we learn to be silent and listen to God. Remember Psalms 23: 2-3 .. he leads me beside quiet waters,..He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. To lead someone they must be able to listen to your instructions. But God cannot fulfill his promises when we are busy. 1 Kings 19:11-13: Verse 11 .. 11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by Verse 12... And after the fire came a gentle whisper. ... God speaks to us only if we learn to be still and quiet. AMEN
