I love my neighborhood: Mid-City, L.A. I feel a little guilty being the first white dude, knowing that eventually this neighborhood will be an extension of Culver City/Beverly Hills... but right now its perfect: ice cream trucks, kids, and folks selling tamales and veggies out of the back of their vans. AWESOME. I had the nicest visit with a neighbor today who was picking a guava off my tree. I invited her in, and we had such a nice time talking in Spanglish. Change is inevitable in this city and in life, but Id like to savor these moments.
