I love reading Ben Witherington III! He is the consummate American Bible Scholar! He has the great depth to tackle the works of great men like N. T. Wright, who is perhaps the best English Bible Scholar today. He has been working his way through Wrights new book Paul and the Faithfulness of God. And in the blog entries marked Twenty and Twenty one he finds himself at odds with Wright. And I believe rightfully so (excuse my pun! heehee). So here is a quote from one W (pronounced dubya;) ) to another W - For the record it should be stressed that while Paul does indeed call Christ the last or eschatological Adam, he does not call Christ the last Israelite, or even true Israel.
