I love scammers. They are so predictable. And aggressive! Just got a call from someone claiming to be from Windows, and just to see what he was peddling I followed along the dialogue for a minute. (Imagine in a strong Indian accent.) Hit the windows key and the letter R. Now type Assoc. Do you see the CLSID at the bottom? I will tell you that number and you will know I am from Windows Tech Support. Only Windows and you know that number so you know Im legitimate. I want to help you fix your computer. It has some bad viruses on it. At this point I hung up. He called me back and asked me why I hung up! (Persistant little buggers, eh?) I told him this was clearly a scam, the CLSID is a Class Identifer from the registry and is not unique to my machine and to stop calling my number. He said I will give your number to all of my friends and we will all be calling you every day and every hour of the day and night. Wow! (Kind of hope he makes good on it so I can pursue some kind of legal action against these parasites.)
