I love strength training and encourage women to give it a shot. BUT, as this incredible lady proves, its not mandatory for building a body you love and being the most awesome version of yourself. Do what YOU enjoy. --------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Nia, I found your website a little over a year ago and loved what you wrote. I tried weight lifting and it wasnt for me (yet), but loved what you wrote about women, fitness, bodies, and being awesome. I started rowing 6 months ago, fell in love, and am now rowing with a mixed sweep rowing team. I have visible muscle on my legs, my shoulders are square, and I can feel my abs. I work out with my team 3 times x week (1.5-2 hour practices), and scull or erg on one of the off days. . . . Your website has been a great resource for me, and I feel like I have permission to embrace my weird little body and its awesomeness even though Im not lanky, tall, and slim. I have stopped caring as much about how I look in spandex, but care more and more about how hard I can push when Im in the boat. Rowing is awesome and I probably wouldnt have started had I not found your website. Youre awesome!
