I love the confused look on peoples faces when they ask where did - TopicsExpress

I love the confused look on peoples faces when they ask where did you go to culinary arts school, and I smile politely and tell them I didnt. This question is often asked after they have enjoyed a good meal.... So while looking at me puzzled, the next question is generally so where did you learn? Thats when I get the pleasure of telling them but I was raised with some badass Southern women in my life who would let me marry a woman , unless I could cook too. After that I generally tell them about my experience at bread box bakery, and how the teachings of a man named Max Banks laid the foundation and sparked the passion in me for the culinary arts. The rest of the story follows an imperfect road with poor decisions, bridge burning, lots of travel, and some good whiskey. With all this being said, Im often told I should write a book.. And so after a few months of brainstorming and another month or two of outlining ... Im finally going to start writing my book. It will be a combination of places Ive traveled, kitchens ive worked in, and several recipes Ive learned along the way. Who knows how long itll take, so Ill keep you posted. Anyone who has pictures of us cooking together, or just hanging out please contact me so I can put them in the book.
