I love the constitution of this country as it protects the citizens and creates unity within itself but one thing I hate is the way public office holders mis-interprete it.... take for instance the issue of immunity clause,it was placed just to protect the leaders from unnecessary attacks but today it is a tool they use to attack the masses, they loot the public funds and nothing can be done because they are "protected by law". and when they eventually step down there are others to protect them. Another example is the declaration of assets u all know that such a law is not respected but they are so eager to hide behind a law they do not respect ... Lets also not forget that the law is expressly clear on the fact that no public office holder should have an account in another country but now they buy houses and other properties not forgetting opening multiple accounts if not more..... Infact the Constitution is clear that it is supreme but today the Supremacy of the land belong to the who is who in politics.... Amongst the policies in the constitution there is the provision for education where it was stated that the government should provide free primary education and if the country improves (that is to say from the hard work they(previous leaders who had the good will in moving Nigeria forward) . the free education should include secondary etc but today I fail to see anything thing ranging from development to education to health to infrastructure in this country which would improve the lives of the masses of this country I stand to be corrected but would want to ask if the immunity clause has achieved its aim? if no then pls scratch it off and if yes what is wrong with Nigeria?
