Natural History Society of Swaziland Birding Event : Please note that this event is for Paid up Members of the NHSS Only Bird Outing - Mafuteni Ranch – 1st December 2013 Lee and Rowan Howe have again kindly offered to host birders at this popular venue where we have had excellent birding in the past recording over 100 species. Recent sightings include Martial Eagle, Pinkthroated Twinspots and Sacred Ibis. We will be meeting at the Mafuteni Garage at 5.30 a.m. . The garage is approximately 16km from Manzini, at the turn off to Luve on the Mpaka /Siteki road and is a comfortable 45min. drive from Mbabane. We will be doing a combination of walking and driving and the outing will probably last about 4-5 hours. Bring along your drinks and refreshments for the day and join us for lunch afterwards. Lee will be providing boerewors rolls but if you prefer bring along a picnic lunch/braai. Please also remember to bring your hats, sunblock, insect repellent, water/refreshments for the walk, and most importantly don’t forget binoculars and bird book.
