I love these 2 human beings: #CesarChavez, #Selena Quintanilla - because growing up there were not of people that looked like me on the TV, in the movies. But these 2 beautiful Chixanos/Mexicanos/Indigenas/Original people - looked like my skin, sounded like my language and brought joy to me in so many ways. Selena was a beautiful, talented young woman that brought me pride to see her as idolized by so many- and yet she always represented her people. She was ours, and when she went before the world it was like her saying to the world I am here - no blonde hair, no bleach cream- love me like I am and love the people i come from. Cesar was our champion, our MLK Jr, our Ghandi, our voice to the world that we will fight to be respected...and we will WIN! #SiSePuede I am thankful that in a world set up to make us hate ourselves- God let these 2 stars shine for us and all our beautiful children. Their black brown faces arent something to hide in shame- lift them up and walk with dignity and pride- we are a beautiful and gifted people - thank you for reminding us Cesar and Selena. #Paz #Amor
