I love this. After seeing my Mom lose her battle to cancer and look her worse, which also upset her to look at herself, I see no point in these selfies. I know people mean well, but this serves about as much purpose to me as October turning everything pink. Breast cancer is not the only type of cancer, and I dont think that athletes being forced to wear pink (and the team spending money on pink shoelaces, sweat bands, etc.) does far less good than the athletes and teams actually making a donation to cancer research. I agree with this author that I dont think anyone is unaware of cancer; awareness and action are two different things. No offense to anyone posting these because I know you are good people that mean well; I just dont see what purpose this serves.
