I love this Andrew Lloyd Webber medley. Its three different views of romantic love set side-by-side and overlapped. All of them are true, but they are truer together. I think we often want love to be simpler than it is, but its a mix of feelings, a muddle really. Its fascinating to focus on them, to have a good look at all the feelings that come up when youre in love, to see all the subtleties and what they teach. Recently, I made a new mixed CD. Its called: Fears and Breaks From Fears, Which Are Which? As I listen to it, Im surprised, again and again, as a piece that seems as though it should elicit fear doesnt; instead I feel thrilled. Actually, I feel a whole mix of feelings. You know me: I like complexity, and I like subtlety.
