I love this article. I had a middle-class friend castigate me for filing bankruptcy, partying, and generally not being as productive a citizen as he was. Also, for criticizing Mitt Romneys 47% diatribe as well as his post-election they voted for handouts speech. I wondered why poor people voting in their interest were considered morally slack while rich people voting in their interest were properly within their rights. He came back with, So lets just jump into socialism! If your taxes are burdensome, and you blame poor people, you deserve the giant screw being drilled into your ass. You want to fight with poor people for scraps? And resent them for the miserly social safety net we grudgingly provide here in the US? Most of our overprivileged model citizens and job creators, who must truly be saints considering how God/capitalism has rewarded them, dont give a crap about honor, law or fairness. Even the ones who care about social justice are going to avail themselves of the loopholes the system offers them -- why shouldnt they? Until we stand up and demand an end to this farce, we are suckers not to take very opportunity to shaft the financial system in any watered-down way we mere mortals can manage.
