I loved haggling for my car :) I walked in and announced, Im buying a car today. Thats the good news. The bad news? Today Im visiting 4 dealers and looking at 4 cars. So, Im giving you only 30 minutes then Im off to the next dealer. Shall we get to work?! I came well-informed - with a details (and the price) of the car I was interested in from Edmonds, I knew what my must-haves were and what was a deal-breaker, I negotiated on the price, not the payments. When someone insisted on focusing on payments not price and trade in value...I simply wished them a nice day and left. I had a copy of my credit score with me, so there was no wasted time about whether my credit was good or not. They were offering the GM Employee Pricing or 1.5% financing back then. They said which would you like? I said both. They said it wasnt possible. I said, Anything is possible. And, I simply told them Id give them an hour to work it out - and went to lunch. :) They did both. And, I drove off the lot with a deal I was happy with. daveramsey/blog/6-tactics-used-car-salesman
