I loved opening Christmas presents when I was little. At the time - TopicsExpress

I loved opening Christmas presents when I was little. At the time it seemed like the most memorable and exciting event in the world, but I cant remember a single gift I received now. What I do remember is spending time with my family. I remember sledding and playing in the snow until our faces and hands were numb and red. I remember shoveling off a bit of the snow on the lake to skate. I remember building forts and snowmen. I remember drinking hot chocolate and watching A Muppet Christmas Carol. I remember driving to grandmas farm and eating sugar cookies while she made dinner. I remember the family ornaments that were on the tree, not the presents that were under it. Christmas for me is a feeling, not an event. You cant cover love up with wrapping paper and a bow, but I promise it is the only gift worth giving. So spend more time and less money; kids wont remember that LEGO set in a few years, but they will remember helping you bake reindeer-shaped cookies.
