I made a few connections. Im not complaining about our current roster, but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you because I thought this was interesting: If Drew Pomeranz doesnt break his hand, the the As wouldve had Sonny, Kazmir, and Pomeranz all pitching well, with Chavez pitching great and Milone having a great stretch. Chavez was going to wear down in the season, but thats what Straily was for. However, Pomeranz freaks out and breaks his hand. What happens? We trade for Mills. He doesnt work out well. Then we trade for Samardzija and Hammel. Straily is also traded. Milone gets sent down and hes not happy, and he ends up getting traded. Hammel doesnt pitch well, and Chavez starts to wear down, but we dont want to call up Pomeranz because Hammel and Chavez dont have options. So we traded for Lester. Now our rotation is Lester, Samardzija, Gray, Kazmir, and Hammel with Chavez and Pomeranz as backup starters. If Pomeranz doesnt break his hand the rotation is Kamizr, Gray, Milone (he never gets sent down), Pomeranz (he keeps pitching well), and Chavez (he keeps starting and when he wears down we rest him sometimes and use Straily). Are our current starters better than what could have been? Yes. Did our roster endure major changes? Yes. What Im saying is: If Pomeranz controlled his anger, wed have Addison Russell, Billy McKinney, Milone, Straily, and Cespedes still (Im not an if we have Cespedes... dumb ass, just pointing it out). We also wouldnt have Fuld (for a second time), Gomes, Samardzija, Hammel, Lester, Dunn (we traded for him for lineup presence after Moss went down the toilet and became a non-factor), and we wouldnt have ever had Mills (wed probably still have acquired Anderson and Soto because this chain of events doesnt relate to Jasos concussion history; trading for Kyle Blanks also doesnt relate tho any of this either). MORAL OF THE STORY: DONT GET ANGRY AND BREAK YOUR HAND BECAUSE IT CHANGES THE WHOLE DYNAMIC OF THE ROSTER.
