I made this Bell pepper foraging bird toy with scooter Zs stainless steel skewer from bird toy parts at Winged Victory, who sells the skewers to make bird toys. They are wonderful for loading fresh fruits and veggies onto, or loading just about anything onto, to hang in your birds cage. I cut out a hold in the side of the pepper, and stuff the pepper with treats (fresh & dried fruits & veggies, nuts, seeds, etc.) I wrapped each treat first in an UN-lined index card for him to unravel, unwrapping the treats for a challenge. My parrot, Baby, got all the treats out, unwrapped and ate them, then ate the bell pepper also :). These are pictures of the finished toy, then the toy after he got done with it, the eaten pepper. He loved it, and it kept him busy for hours and hours :)
