I meant to post this earlier and it didnt happen. Better late than never I suppose. Just a little over 2 years ago, Andrew and I had just had our second child and we were a mess, health wise. When you have small children, especially needy ones, cooking healthy meals and meal planning are just a luxury you can’t afford. Too often we opted for the quick take out meals because we were both so exhausted and Andrew only knows how to cook sandwiches and bowls of cereal, so it’s not like we had many options. At one point, I remember getting so out of breath walking to the mailbox that I was fed up with myself. I felt bad that I had taken Andrew on that path with me as well. Prior to children we were active, ate healthy home cooked meals and didn’t have a weight issue. Now, I am NOT saying our children made us fat! What I am saying is we got lazy and I am finding out that is somewhat typical of a lot of relationships. I made the decision to do the Beachbody challenge and started with Turbo Fire and drinking Shakeology. I was seeing some success, but not much. Then Andrew decided he needed to get healthy too and it’s when he decided to do it with me that everything really clicked and then I had someone I was accountable too. I started cooking healthy dinners, we weighed and portioned our food and tracked what we ate. We started exercising, I did Turbo, he rode his bike and started swimming, we both drank Shakeology pretty much everyday and slowly over time, the weight came off. We are in better shape now then before our kids. We have learned even more about exercise and nutrition and we push each other to stay healthy. We want to leave a legacy of health to our children. We want to teach them how to be active and eat right. We want them to value being healthy and taking care of their bodies. I’m so proud of how far we have come and what we have learned together. Not to mention how HOT my husband looks in his bike clothes! ;) #TransformationTuesday
