I mentioned this before but hope to reach more of you now.... thanks... Can I ask you guys and gals for a wee bit of support for a friends studio... Hes written and produced over 1,000 tracks and recorded over 10,000 right here in Kilmarnock... including a series of albums for me with 40 new unsigned bands back in the eighties.... we got them played on coast-to-coast radio in North America. Hes worked with top names in the business from Eddi Reader, Aztec Camera, Del Amitri and The Bluebells to Hamish Imlach, Tiger Tim Stevens and Martin Taylor amongst many others. He recorded Alice Cooper, Slade and Shakatak at the famous Glasgow Apollo, and played on a number one hit single with The Lotus Eaters from Liverpool... as well as assisting in the careers of many others like Mike Ogletree (Simple Minds and Fiction Factory), Kissing The Pink, Fairground Attraction and Trashcan Sinatras. On his albums, hes re-worked some Scots classics and written some original pieces, occasionally with fellow musician Colin Kennedy. Hes produced them all using the cream of musicians, and now needs just a few £5 notes here and there to justify all his efforts in over 40 years in the business. I did my first and last recordings in this studio, the first being 1972 and were going to dig out some of those old tapes if we can and raise some money to keep it going another 40 years... In the meantime, browse around Clarks site and buy an album for a fiver, or if youre really broke, maybe get a 4-track EP for £3... See if you like it by streaming the tracks first, but please take a few minutes over the weekend to go to the site and have a look. MANY THANKS. clarksorley.bandcamp/album/celtic-skin More info on Clark Sorley on Wikipedia
