I missed my friend Bernice Sissons funeral this morning, but Ive - TopicsExpress

I missed my friend Bernice Sissons funeral this morning, but Ive been thinking a lot about her fight for justice. She helped start the first battered womens shelter in the United States. In her quiet loving manner she was fiercely passionate about the safety and dignity of others. In a couple hours, Sunday Mass will start at Regina Mundi Catholic Church in Soweto, near Johannesburg South Africa. During the apartheid era, the white Afrikaner government banned all public assembly, except because its leaders were so religious, allowed church services. The people of Soweto used that opportunity at Regina Mundi each week to plan anti-apartheid actions. May we all use every one of our opportunities to work for justice. Blessings and peace to Bernice and her family. Heres a song to send her on, from my visit to Regina Mundi in August.
