I must say I am totally enjoying the lushness of the flora of the Lowcountry. When we left here 26 days ago everything was peeking little hints of bright Spring green. Now the trees and grasses and weeds are filling in. Getting a little deeper shade of green. With that come the notion of CLEAN and FRESH and all thing new again. We still have azaleas sporting shades of screaming pinks, corals and lavenders. The grass needs cutting but the clover blooming makes our yard look like a forgotten meadow. Bees are buzzing. Fireflies are winking and blinking. It wont be long before the cicadas strike up the SOUNDS of SUMMER chorus. I love our porch. Tommy washed it down today to rid us of the layers of pine pollen. Lawn mower coming out of hibernation this week. I love all seasons. They all provide us with many sights and scents to soothe us and prod us towards some activity. For me it is planting. Feeling the soil with my bare hands. I do not wear gloves. I like to dig right in and get acquainted again. Our compost tumbler is ready to be emptied. I love it. I am glad we have this home place of my youth to share. So I thank you Mother Earth on your special day. YOU are INCREDIBLE!
