I must say, in all of the public meetings that Ive ever been to in - TopicsExpress

I must say, in all of the public meetings that Ive ever been to in my life, last nights meeting with MP George Howarth was the most shocking one Ive ever experienced. George accosted me as soon as I walked in, and lectured me about filming members of the public, and he requested, quite aggressively, that I did not film. I simply refused his request, as Legislation gives me the right to film meetings that are open to the Public, and Georges attempt to prevent that legal right is unacceptable, oppressive and quite shocking. George stated, that if I insisted on filming, he would cancel the meeting. I was approached by a few members of the public, who suggested that I should do what George asked, cos they wanted the meeting to go ahead. Well, so did I! and I was not prepared to be dictated to by a Public servant, someone who was elected to represent me! not try to control me! If Id of not filmed, then what is there to stop George and the Councillors there saying whatever they liked, without any accountability or proof of what was said? I called his bluff and steadfastly refused to stop filming the meeting. George went ahead with the meeting. I have never seen so much outrage from members of the public, and Ive never heard so much rubbish and inaccuracy from an MP and Councillors. A question was asked twice, which was, are the Councillors in attendance tonight for or against the release of greenbelt? Cllr Mick Murphy, Cllr Denis Baum, Cllr Graham Morgan, Cllr Lonergan, Cllr OMara, all refused to answer the question, there may have been a few others who also refused. As I remember, only two borough Councillors, Cllr Lynn OKeefe, and Cllr Adam Flanders, answered the question, which was that they were against the release of greenbelt in Knowsley. Oh, loads more, very eventful! Anyway, YouTube video to come in a few days
